About Dr. Winston McKenzie
He is a former All-England Amateur Boxing Champion who was compelled to retire from boxing following a brief stint in the Professional ranks, having sustained horrific injuries to both eyes. Hailing from a well-known family that includes three other Professional World-acclaimed Champion Boxers, he is based in Croydon, South London.
After stepping away from the boxing ring, he delved into the realms of community work, charity, and politics. Known for affiliating with various major political parties, he attained positions as a Spokesman for Culture, Media & Sport, as well as Business & The Commonwealth. These roles bestowed upon him an in-depth understanding of the fundamental operational aspects of British politics. Eventually, he transitioned to standing independently of any political party.
Throughout his political career, he contested the office of Mayor of London on two occasions as an Independent candidate. More recently, he stood for the office of the first elected Mayor of Croydon, also in the capacity of an Independent candidate.
His dedicated work with diverse communities has garnered recognition. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from his Church for his numerous youth work experience programs over the years. Additionally, the American University for Global Peace (AUGP-USA) honored him with a Certificate of Excellence for Global Peace, recognizing his contributions to "Making Nations Sustainable, Developed & Strong." He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humanity for his work within the Commonwealth. Furthermore, he was appointed Honorary Ambassador at Large - United Kingdom Chapter, with all Rights, Privileges, Immunities, and Distinction in Testimony.
